- Few farmers can afford capital thus they are not always able to reap the high yield of GM seed. Thus they are not motivated to cultivate GM species.

- Long term environment problem. Plants may be more resistant to pests/diseases and may cross-pollinate with weeds to create Super Weed OR Loss of biodiversity: Natural species cannot compete with stronger GM species and get colonized quickly, resulting in their extinction and these are loss of natural species

3. (a)(i) - Excessive use of fertilisers and pesticides may cause land pollution and soil degradation when the chemicals are washed into the soil. These chemical pesticides and fertilisers contaminate the water in the river when it flows into the river as surface run off when it rains, or when it infiltrates into the groundwater system.

History Mid-year test

It has been decided that there will be no SBQ graded assignment. Instead, there will definitely be an SBQ and (tentatively) 1 or 2 SEQ questions for the test on 30th April (Friday of next week).

When the test questions are confirmed at the end of this week, I will let you know more.

Meanwhile, to prepare for the coming test, do the following-

1. I have uploaded the sources on the Provisional Government's decision to continue war- effects on Russia. Please look at all the sources and complete the table you constructed in class. This is important because you do not have PowerPoint slides for this topic and it may come out for the test.

2. Read up on the strengths of Lenin and the Bolsheviks before class next week.

3. Consider the reasons for the November 1917 Russian Revolution.

4. Take my comments on the recent SEQ test seriously.

Please spread the word around in case there are people who have not seen this.

Hi 2A peeps!

This is for the benefit of those people who are lazy to check IVLE or perhaps don't like to. Our timetable has changed [FYI those laggers out there you should have realised this LONG ago. ;D], whether you like it or not. It's real weird now, I don't know how to describe. Anyway, we get to go home at 1.30PM on 3 days so it may not be as bad as we think. Well, whatever your perception is, you still have to go along with it. If you don't like it, go ahead and cry.
